Gwen Stefani ft. Akon - The Sweet Escape (Christian Wheel 2026 Mix)

In 2006, Gwen Stefani and Akon joined forces to produce this powerful singalong record (seriously... who CAN'T resist Akon's "woo hoo"? The whole room joins in, there's no effort needed). Jimmy Iovine at Interscope pushed them both into a studio together and this was the result. Most pop records use a four-on-the-floor beat. But this song does something different. It moves in a two-bar loop where each chord holds a different length of time. That makes the song bounce rhythmically instead of a straight march, which sounds fine on it's own. But when a DJ tries to mix it, the timing of the beats can sound off as the different rhythms clash.
This remix brings it back to a four-on-the-floor beat, bumps the tempo up from 120 to 129, and adds a bass groove that lends itself more to a club record than a radio/pop record.
