Ella Langley - Be Her (Christian Wheel R&B Funk Remix)

Ella Langley's "Be Her" has a rare mainstream energy that can move it well beyond a country audience. As of writing, it is sitting at #2 and still feels like it has room to climb. A #1 peak feels very possible, though the chart will decide that in its own time.

Langley wrote "Be Her" with Hardy, Jordan Schmidt, and Smith Ahnquist. Hardy has said they knew the song had something special almost immediately, and that the writing came together in about 30 minutes. Pretty incredible for such a polished song.

For my remix, I heard the same mainstream potential that made "Choosin' Texas" work outside a strictly country context. The original has country roots, but the songwriting and vocal delivery have potential to reach much wider. I kept the tempo at its native 111 BPM and built around a funk-pop feel, giving the track a glossier rhythm and more movement for DJs, in the same vein as the "Choosin' Texas" Remix.

This remix was made for rooms where a country record might not fly, even when the song itself is too high on the charts to ignore. The new groove gives DJs a cleaner way to bring "Be Her" into a mainstream/pop set while keeping Ella's vocal and the emotional center of the record out front.

Play the remix below.
